None of makes sense. You can win 6 of 8 and be in the same spot or lose 7 of 8 and be in the same spot.

I mean, mathematically they do have a shot at making it - especially considering that several of the teams ahead of them currently have goaltending issues (and that's putting it mildly). In the end, all those overtime losses will probably come back to haunt them. This roster won't fare well in a best of 7 against 80-90% of the teams that will make the playoffs. But some of those teams have goaltending that is SO bad, it almost guarantees that there will be an upset or two in the first couple rounds. A surprise team with a really hot goalie could find themselves in the conference finals.
