Sullivan finally lost Crosby. I don’t know how you don’t make a coaching change at seasons end

I prefer to say outscored 15-1 (I think that’s right) in the last 3 games. Somehow it’s more appalling.

Doesn't his new contract begin next season?

Promote his to the front office in some role and get a new head coach.

That’s what I advocate for. The core three don’t play well enough to really demand a coach anymore.

Sid definitely mailed it in.

The total lack of pride from the team is pretty disappointing

They did the same thing during the Johnston era. While I think part of it is they know the team is garbage at least until years end, I truly think lack of faith in Sullivan is a big factor

you don't have to watch, you know
I know and I didn’t, but it still hurts to see we got blown out for the third game in a row. This season is depressing

GMKD did nothing for 5 months and then threw in the towel. I'd be pissed, too.

It’s insane how quickly the media and fans soured on Dubas. He walked into a real **** situation and made some moves that were fairly well praised before the start of the season. Well, except for Graves. He’s tasked with trying to win now while also retooling for the future with basically zero assets to help do it. His leash needs to be much much longer.

Sid losing a productive year is infuriating to me. There were two major things that led to our shitty season and both of them were avoidable

1. Our PP shouldn’t be this bad. Even if we’re missing a net front type player like Horny it’s more of an overall scheme issue. This is, based on who is on it, the most underperforming PP in Pens history by a large margin which baffles me how neither Rierdan nor Sully got the axe this season. I’m not sure who has the power to fire whom but the fact that no one got fired is a tremendous failure

2. Graves was a mistake and it was never rectified. Maybe Dubas didn’t have much on the table in terms of replacements in trades but this was our biggest roster issue and it went unresolved which is frustrating

We are on a pretty similar trajectory as the Caps. They started selling 1-2 years ago. They’ve ditched some important pieces over the past 2 seasons.

I don’t see their team pouting like we are. The visible frustration on the ice, the comments to the media, the overall vibe right now….it’s really embarrassing.

The players haven’t played well. When that happens changes get made. They’re acting like they have been wronged in some way.

I’m OK with them losing a bunch of games the rest of the way. Get a better draft pick. But this malaise or pouting or whatever you want to call it better be gone by next season.

Nothing like bringing in a new GM a week before free agency, telling him "do something", then getting mad because that didn't immediately work out.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and you can't undo 2 years of Hextall and 5 years of post-Cup Rutherford in 8 months.

Honestly I'm fully prepared for this to be like a 5-8 year process.

Meh I’m fine with what he did. Try to inject something into this boring lifeless game and stand up for your teammate.
Yup, how many times are the tables turned there? We see it all the time. Good to see something from our own guys for once

Essentially everything Dubas has done outside of signing Graves has been good. I’m not sure what people expect. Are there sub 1.5 million dollar 4th liners who can also score out there in free agency? Trading Jake was the right call. I’d argue he should have sold more but again it takes two to tango. Let him have an offseason with some cap space and see what he can do.

I didn’t mean to single out your post. I was talking more about social media and our lovely Pittsburgh media.

I do agree he needed to make a change earlier in the season. Not sure what, but he sat in his hands way too long

I think this was a “show me what you got” season. Dubas has now seen what they got and unfortunately the answer was “not much.”

To be fair to the Dubas haters. Dude was shoved down the entirety of the NHLs throats in Toronto for how smart he was, etc. I absolutely see why people have grown tired of him. Missing on Graves and spending a lot of money on him is a poor first big move in FA.

Of course, those people are just ignoring everything else he did to help shed salary etc.
