It’s pretty obvious they realize the season is over after last nights loss

I’m not happy the season has gone to hell but the silver lining is that this is probably the only way the organization was going to be able to add nhl-ready youth quickly. We needed a season like this where we could SELL and use the opportunity to add prospects or young nhl players to the mix.

Make the right moves here with Guentzel, Eller, Acciari, Ruh, Smith, Jarry/Ned, etc and you’ll have a few NHL ready young guys to usher in the youth movement next season. It doesn’t need to be a full rebuild but just a retool. A few guys to bring some youthful energy, speed, etc. supplement that with some free agents, new coaching staff, better PP and we’re back in business.

You could tell by the comments and body language in the post game interview. They know.

They needed a good beat down like this to erase all doubt

This is probably a blessing frankly

Not only Dubas, but the leaders of the team, need to realize this team isn’t good enough and changes need to be made.

Bad time for our goaltending to fall off a cliff, play in front notwithstanding

Good coaches get fired all the time. Sometimes you just need a change. Dubas’ recent comments would lead you to believe that Sullivan has a lifetime contract here and isn’t going anywhere…..but I just can’t see it. This team is incredibly stale and needs a new voice. I can’t imagine him coming back next year.
His 5 mil per year extension doesn't even kick in until next season. He's not getting fired until midway next season at the very earliest.

Unless Liverpool wins the EPL and FSG get drunk and decide they don't mind eating 15mil+ in coaching, I don't see it happening.

My wife came downstairs to let me know how bad the score was (I’m watching the aew ppv.)

I know it won’t happen but Sullivan shouldn’t be coach tomorrow. It’s not all his fault but holy ****.

I mean depending on how much Dubas sheds cap wise, he has a chance to rebuild it in his vision faster.

He’s got a real **** job, but the pens current team should have made the decision easy for him.

The time for shakeups and season-saving measures or coaching changes (Sullivan/Reirden) was two months ago when the writing was already on the wall. Too late now. Ride it out, sell, and let some young guys play the rest of the season.

It’s a tough job…but you still have Crosby, Letang, EK, and Jarry start a team with, plus maybe a reinvigorated Geno if he moves to wing. Hextall absolutely failed at the surrounding cast thing. Hopefully Dubas does not

I didn’t mind the moves Dubas made heading into the season. There was a lot of turnover actually. On paper I thought we were going to be better. Still old, small, and soffft but enough skill and supporting cast +EK and PP to make playoffs.
