To your point more though... that it's in the pens hands... they show the ability to play complete games against a few great teams this year so yeah I think it's more "flipping the switch" and they've shown they can't get up enough to flip the switch enough to even make the playoffs last year. So this bodes poorly

I’m hoping that Karlsson will help to galvanize the team. Not sure how much he actually cares about winning a cup but this is probably his best chance in his career and close to his last chance and hopefully he’ll stay motivated throughout and the team will rally around him

Yea games like Colorado, Tampa, Vegas come to mind. They show up for teams like that and put up a good loss or outright win. Then lay absolute turds against bad teams. To your point more though... that it's in the pens hands... they show the ability to play complete games against a few great teams this year so yeah I think it's more "flipping the switch" and they've shown they can't get up enough to flip the switch enough to even make the playoffs last year. His best chances were 2017 and 2019 probably. Don't mind being proven wrong.I’m hoping that Karlsson will help to galvanize the team. Had that discussion with Baby Franchise yesterday on the way to school. Heard they were playing Tampa and I said, well here comes another loss. She said, first, they seem to usually beat Tampa, remember that game they raised their banner a few years ago and we scored like 7 goals? Also they come out and play well against good teams lately but don't take bad teams seriously.
Smart kid.

I think the Penguins have "showed up" most of the time. You're going to have periods where you get worked and periods where you do the working. They've for the most part played well defensively and gotten goaltending.
They have had untimely let downs like against Buffalo and Anaheim, and they have had problems scoring goals.
They always play better against teams like Vegas, Tampa, Colorado because they can play that style and those teams play a little more open. They can't handle those fast teams that collapse on their own net and dont let you break the force field like carolina, Islanders, rangers, to some extent new jersey
