No commitment to keeping Sullivan, guys just said it's new GMs job to evaluate.

I’m ok with this. Sully won two cups but he’s also made some bad decisions the last couple years. If he can sell the new GM then I’m good with keeping him but I also won’t weep if he gets shown the door

I don’t see the stars quitting on Sully. If they still believe in him, so do I

Like I said, new GM should choose the coach that they want. Which might be sullivan

The only thing is, if they aren't intending to move swiftly to fill the vacancy, it wouldn't be best practice to leave sullivan twisting in the wind and they could allow him to take calls

Of course, gotta get that Botterill click!
I completely forgot that Dave Molinari, a Hall of Fame writer, is an employee of Bud Moonshine.

Of all the press conferences I've watched, that was definitely one of them.

I don't necessarily want Sullivan gone, but some fresh blood wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing behind the bench.

Fire Reirden seems fine...he looks like someone that wasn't quite cast in King of the Hill...also, he's a retread...

I'm really glad FSB acted this quickly. I think we all needed that. I am now looking forward to a new season. Still a wasted year for sure.

If the Pens had sneaked in, would Hextall and Burke still get fired?

First line: agree.
Second line: That's what bothers me a bit. If Mrazek pulls his hammy robbing Crosby in the 1st period the other night, we're in the playoffs, no sweat. But *they* didn't act any differently...we just got a bounce..."there, but for the flip of a coin, go we" kinda thing...which isn't what a boss should get a spike through his head for...so, I guess, I'd hope that he was gonna be canned if we didn't win a round regardless...(?)

I would’ve guessed no but imo the difference between making it and not, especially with the longest streak in sports, is significant enough to warrant the firing

lol there’s no guarantee we would’ve beaten a Mrazek replacement. The Sens dude beat us in his very first NHL steer

There's no guarantee that we don't. And given the chances that we were generating and knowing who their other goalie was, I think my parallel timeline is extremely valid. People say it's the most valid timeline they've ever seen. There's been a lot of timelines thrown out there over the years, but this is the validest...

Gonna go out on a limb and guess this decision wouldn't have changed based on the results of one game. Unless they went on to win a cup or something (lol)

I'm not convinced of that. I think if we beat, say, Carolina - or took Carolina to 7 - I'm not sure this happens...I'm not even sure if it happens if we make the playoffs at all...

Though, ya know, as dumb as they are and as dumb as almost every single one of you are, fans have a voice...fans can get coaches fired, fans can get management fired...ya know, Burke was in this situation before with whatever Hanta-Yo!'s name was - Ron Wilson? There were "fire Wilson" chants going on in Toronto and out of respect to Wilson, Burke dumped him...so fans can make a difference, and I suspect they did here to some degree...missing the playoffs in the most embarrassing way possible just put cement around the locked safe as it sunk to the ocean floor...
