Also, he wasn't really in any danger...lower body is generally not a whistle...if he had stayed down as Philly controlled/exited, then sure...but I'm unlikely to blow that down...

If they blow the whistle in a case like that they’re incentivizing guys staying down after every blocked shot. PKers would block a shot, fall down, play dead, and get a whistle/faceoff.

Perhaps Letang whiffs on so many shots because at the very last moment he’s thinking “I should be passing this puck.” A guy with his skill level fans and flubs way too many 1-timers.
