How can a team that is as old as dirt with so many vets not know how to hold a **** lead?
Vets who have experienced 3 tight Cup-clinching games, no less.
Yeah tonight isn't on our GM imo. The roster on the ice had a two goal lead and couldn't hang on for ten minutes. That's on Sully and the guys on the ice imo. Sack up

Well, at least we’ve got 4 points between us and the Panthers. For now. Big 2 days coming up.

I’m glad for Mrs. C, too. :fist:

Yeah, we’ve seen self-sabotage from Globetrotting for years.

Yep. That was a big point. I don’t particularly care who’s first or second wildcard so long as we get in.

Florida has an at-home back-to-back tomorrow (CHI, likely W) and Saturday (WPG, who knows).

We have an at-home back-to-back Saturday (Flyers) and Sunday (NYR).

So, a big 3 days, not 2.

Buckle up, baby.

Should have been sellers at the deadline especially since what we added was the hockey equivalent of magic beans.

Yup to both things you said. Just aren’t good and the special teams, my god man, I don’t even know how we are winning games when the special teams are this bad

I am truly curious what they do with Zucker - because he should be a "re-sign" guy for sure, but then that means the team stays mostly the same for like 3-4 years in a row.

They lack snipage. The team's snipers simply aren't sufficiently snipey this season. Jake has only 5 PP goals. Start sniping, man.

This team needs more players like a healthy Jason Zucker, unfortunately his style of play is one of the reasons he is often injured.

Imo the personnel isn't the issue. It's the approach.

It's kind of mind-boggling though that these same players who have had PP success before, seemingly can't do it sometimes. It's been the same 3-4 guys on the powerplay for what, a decade? It should be relatively automatic on what they need to do to be successful lol.

i think that's part of the issue, they naturally have tendencies, and everyone and their mother knows them by now

Their tendencies: Sid will try and force a pass through a crowd. Geno will try and force a no-look pass through a crowd. Letang will try and force a no-look backhand pass to an area recently vacated by himself.

What changes to people expect? The 5 players on the team who give you the best chance to score are on PP1. Theyre getting chances, it's just not going in.

Sure they have the occasional PP that they never get set up but literally every team does (unless they're playing us...)

I'm WAY more concerned about the PK. Can't win draws, can't block shots, can't clear pucks

The only thing I'd prefer about the PP - is that they increase shot volume and get someone in front of the net. Much like Philly used to do - but we don't have horny anymore, so it basically is what it is and that's like the least of my concern.

Successful teams have a combined special teams percentage of at least 100. More often than not, you need around 105 to have a shot at deep playoff success

Pens combined special teams percentage is exactly 100

Yeah but what is their EXPECTED special teams percentage. That's what we really want to know

Can somebody look up the Pens record in games where Potash puts on a stupid costume?
