4-1 on this road trip. This was a let down game. Bring a solid effort on Tuesday and we’re fine.

Retaliation gets you nowhere except the penalty box in this league.

Also, you'd think people would've seen what happened against the Flyers in 2013, and realize "retaliation" just leads to them losing their heads even more.
Retaliation is dumb and only worthwhile in extreme circumstances or when the game is well out of hand.

This team needs to add a few players that Initiate.

This isn't as big an issue that you think it is. And I think it's funny you only come out of the woodwork to complain about "physicality" when they lose a game/aren't winning.

Should probably be more concerned about allowing 42 shots on Casey **** DeSmith.

The team is soft and small. That’s not really up for debate. It puts them at a disadvantage in any game that gets physical. All playoff games get physical. For Florida this was like a playoff game.

I think the Penguins should sign a few guys above 5’10 180lbs in the off-season so that the team has a better mixture of size, skill sets, attributes, etc. if this is a controversial or offensive take I apologize.

In the NFL I want a short speedy slot WR, and a big outside WR. Different body types. I want a big RB and a smaller faster RB. In basketball I want various shapes and sizes for various matchups and gameplans. In baseball I need contact hitters and power hitters.

Physicality is not the reason this team loses games, even in the playoffs the past 2 years.

That’s something we can all agree on. And of course DeSmith isn’t good no matter how many shots he faces.

I'm not saying sign Reaves.

But when we had Cooke, we won a cup.
When we had hornqvist and oleksiak we won a cup.

You can get someone who is tough and can play.

Oleksiak never won a Cup here. In fact, he was more or less traded because he lost to Wilson in a fight and GMJR had some weird bugaboo about Wilson.

I'm not saying go shank Barkov. I'm saying one of your leaders just got a blatant stick in the nuts how bout you let them know that's not cool?

The game was out of reach. If it's 4-3 or 4-2...then fine the game is more important. The game however was pretty much over...at least give Barkov some sort of discomfort coming out of the box. Do something...anything.

I don't want someone to McSorely the guy. Let him know that spearing another grown man in the nuts is not okay? At the very least it builds a little bit of team/camradarie.
Or, at the very least, if the opponent stirs up crap (and it actually gets called), it would be nice if our guys could exact some revenge by scoring on the #@*£%! power play. Ref’s arm goes up, camera cuts to Sid with the Grinch’s curling grin on his face.

If you’re unwilling or unable to initiate or retaliate without going to the box, then punish them on the scoreboard.

Yes, of course…99% of the league would respond someway somehow in a similar circumstance. We don’t do that though. Why? No clue. It’s kind of embarrassing but it has been that way for years now.

Most guys that have played a contact sport would have a hard time wrapping their head around the Pens extreme “turn the other cheek” mindset. Not sure I could follow the rule if I was on the team and my buddies were getting taken advantage of with 90 seconds left in a blowout.

What do you think the Bruins would do if we ran their goalie or sticked Bergeron in the ballz up 4-1 with 90 seconds left?

It’s frustrating to watch but if they (the players/org) don’t mind being the punching bag then maybe we shouldn’t get worked up. Doesn’t seem to bother them.

I see more TRUCULENCE in my men’s league.

And he himself was a Goalie. Makes no sense. Maybe the goalie position alone (forget Kapanen, McGinn, Carter for a moment) is the most glaring example of him being not so good at this GM thing.

This is what happens when a teammate gets speared in the nuts.

And now he knows that spearing is bad. Whew. Thank goodness.
