I hope all of this means that Drew O'connor stays in the lineup. That's my biggest concern really, I wouldn't take either him or Archibald out. Heinen is the obvious choice, but wouldn't argue with Carter getting spells of rest too.

He could be. He's taken thousands of draws the past several seasons and has won over 50% of those.

For his career he's 49.9% on faceoffs. He's been bad enough this year that he'd easily trail Blueger (RIP) as our worst regular faceoff taker and has been particularly abysmal on shorthanded and defensive zone draws. His production this season was basically zero (3 assists in 23 games) until he was moved from center to Couture's LW. He took more faceoffs in November than January and February combined and while in January he was outstanding in the limited time he spent at the dot, in February he had some eye boggling 6 for 21 and 6 for 16 performances to go along with some 0-fers in limited use. This dude isn't a center anymore and it's probably not a good idea to have him taking PK draws either.

Nothing we could have done this deadline to catch up to the better teams in the East but these 2 moves are pretty minor upgrades. Certainly not exciting at all.

Sharks are trading Bonino to a 3rd team for them to retain salary and then the 3rd team is unfortunately trading him to us.
