Pens get PP, win faceoff, Malkin throws an unnecessary cross-ice pass right away that goes awry, Isles clear, Pens never get any sort of zone time the rest of the way. Worst PP passer on the team.

He looked like he was about to chicken out barreling to the net, instead rounding it off to go behind...until the puck disappeared.

Too talented to worry about details...

Thus, a steady downtrend in points through his prime...except the change of scenery where his opponents didn't know him as well (plus the Malkin, and to a lesser extent, Crosby factor - they were in on half of his points in 2021)...if you're not getting better, you might not get any worse...but the guys around you are getting better...
