Yeah you need to have a tight seal to the post with your stick in a spot to break up something. For movement, typically a two-foot C-cut because when you started to pull back-in, you can butterfly down real hard because you have momentum moving forward and down.

30 years of playing hockey and I literally know next to nothing about proper goaltender positioning.

if you stop thinking about it in terms of how many shots go in and start thinking about it in terms of how many shots they attempt you'll find
