I’m starting to think Hextall isn’t a good GM. Sticking with a garbage oft injured backup, the carter deal, the kapanen deal, deciding the left side of the D was fine as is, leaving no cap flexibility

They were good enough to win the cup last year and he kept the same team together plus upgraded the defense. Guys fell off cliffs and/or no-showed this year, unexpectedly.

I keep seeing this repeated and I don't get it. Yes they get out of the first round with and goalie not named Louie Domingue but saying so surely they were good enough to win the cup seems a bit much.
