Doesn't seem that way. But you won't see this message, as I assume you've been suspended for putting Kapanen on the top line...If you go say Guentzel Crosby Kap, Zucker Malkin Rackell, McGinn carter Rust, none of those lines are all RHS right?Rusty is a dash 12, twice as bad as the next forward (Mr. Hole or whatever)...so, he's not above being moved around the lineup...just be careful with how you distribute your RHS...it's hard to complete passes on a line with everyone having the same handedness, don't set guys up for failure when you're trying to jostle them awake, ya know?

Kap has 12 points in his last 19 games, so giving him a shot on the first line isn't out of the question, especially given the benefits to the third line that would occur if he could stick there.. Rust is more suited to be a third liner at this stage anyway.
Kap has 17 points in 34 games, which would put him on a 41 point pace over 82 games. Not too shabby for a 3rd liner. If he could reach 50 points on the top line, which is a reasonable expectation given his current production level, then his contribution would be perfectly fine there.
No other bottom 6 has the ability to move into the top 6. Heinen has failed there repeatedly, and Carter is too old. Blugers is a hell of a hockey player and every minute he plays is quality, but he's just not a scorer and never will be.

I’m also of the thinking that if tertiary scorers are playing up or above of their ability, that’s what’s needed to make a long cup run. Moving Rust to the third line and him hitting a hot streak could give the pens that depth they’ve wanted for awhile.
I’m not saying it’s gonna work I just think playing Kapanen 11 minutes a game and Rust 19 doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. And kapanen has shown enough of late in limited minutes to maybe take a chance with him on the top two lines

I'd like to temporarily split up crosby and guentzel. Neither of them is going right now and guentzel has not been playing well.

That's how I'd fcks widdit

And I don't mean Lapointe, or Boucher, or Lafleur, or junker, or even reschtenthaler

Malkin and Kapanen together for any extended period of time would cause anger issues to a lot of this board

Yeah, I wouldn't combine them...

The Jake/Zucker swap got me thinking a little bit. Crosby excelled for years with Dupuis on the wing - I think Zucker would fit in just fine. But, what if we got a little crazy.. would McGinn work for a bit? Zucker to the 3rd line to add some skill. Jake to help out Geno and Rust.. I think I solved all our problems

I'd wonder how effective McGinn can be at those minutes...but vritually anyone with Crosby is, by definition, intriguing...
McGinn is used to running a half mile on a treadmill, now you're saying "run three"...minutes, matchups, we might not be patient enough for that to work itself out...
