Malkin had some terrible body positioning there. Got caught deep and then didn't backcheck to the middle of the ice and his man made the play. Come on

I mean it's like me playing NHL 2012 on the XBox.

i bet dumo has enough cache to fetch something in a trade
and unfortunately they're stuck with a couple players who bring next to nothing
it's like having jankowski and sceviour out there

That was aggravating. On one hand we should have got smoked. On the other hand we were one (of several) bone headed play away from a regulation win

Pens have absolutely no D zone coverage against a team that just wires pucks at the net from everywhere and chases after the loose rebounds like mad Men. Maybe it's the oldness/slowness. That dumo/rutta pair was a disgrace today

if dumo was in twenty-five puck battles how many do you reckon he won?

Well two of the three goals were because he wasn't quick enough to get to his post after missed shots...

It's not worth explaining all the scenarios where it's valid. This wasn't one of them. I said it at live speed that as soon as Malkin did that we were in hot soup...

3 on 3 is about staying on top of the puck. Tough to do that when you are behind the other net

Is Ty Smith waiver eligible or something, the Petry injury seems like the perfect time to give him a shot. I don't understand trading Marino for an AHL guy.

He is waiver eligible. They planned to have him here but couldn't find a taker for Joseph. Then Joseph started playing good hockey.

Ty Smith's defense will make you yearn for dumoulin

Someone told me some very negative things about Ty Smith the other day...I'm gonna check for myself. He is not waiver eligible, that is why he is down there...

Obviously, you're right. But, just for conversational purposes, I think what's going through Malkin's head is - that's a relatively flatfooted Jaccob Slavin...he's not the most technically skilled guy with the puck...maybe I can smoke him into a bobble - after all, I just knocked that D to D pass out of the area five seconds earlier...

The spacing, speed differential, situation, and all view of Slavin all weren't correct and we got what we deserved...but if I had to try to craft a thought process for Malkin, it's that...either that, or he had **** to do at 10:00, and couldn't be late...

Better question - why wasn’t 87, 59, and 58 starting OT. If we learned anything in regulation it was that the Canes hogged the puck. Sid has much better chance of winning that faceoff to get first possession. Disappointing.
