Can't just stand around there even though there should have been a penalty.

that call was bad but their inability to hold on to the puck on three consecutive ppossessions is what cost them the point
you'd much rather see the 4th line out there than carter

Exatly, epecially when there's only 3 guys on the ice.

That was a penalty for sure.

And I'm not entirely sure the Canes didn't have 4 players on the ice there.

I was right. Canes had too many men.

Bryan Rust seems more and more like he got his bag and now gives 0 shits.

I like Rust, but your criticism is valid. Either he's lost a step, has a nagging injury, or isn't playing as hard. My money is on a nagging injury.

He’s always been streaky. This is one of his bad streaks

You keep saying that, but never in his streaks has he stopped trying like he has this year.

He's a passenger at the moment. He barely skates and might have a burst of effort maybe 1 shift a game.

This is more than just a cold streak. A cold streak is getting chances but they won't go in. He's not even getting himself into a position where he can create a chance.

That was a great hockey game that didn't deserve to end that way.

Have to play to the whistle though.

Staal is still a really good player.

Burns is toast.

I mean, the play leading up to the uncalled board was mind-boggling at best, then he just stood there and complained, allowing the 2 on 0 to happen. 1 good period doesn't change the fact he's largely looked listless for a solid month+.
