I know they are reporting that, but the team has yet to tweet anything official, and his arbitration hearing was scheduled today.

My only hope is that him signing that contract was a requirement for a trade to a team that has the space to take him.
I'd rather have Heinen and Rodrigues for that hit than just Kapanen.

It doesn't make sense given Hextall has been trying to preserve cap. Surely they weren't doing it to sign megastar Kapanen to a **** deal.

It's tough to give a paycut to someone with some pedigree...but I'm a bit surprised this wasn't a shade under 3...
Said I would have done Kapanen for Kubalik. That would look even better now...

I don't think he's warranted for $3.2mm after only 30 points on a team where he was given multiple chances to succeed. I feel like they have to know what they're getting from him, and it ain't that much.

That's a lot for a guy who will be stapled to the bench as soon as he pissed HCMS off.

He seems to really get down on himself, because I swear I saw this exact quote from him midway through last year.

He really does. Quickly as well.

So this is the same cap hit as his previous deal. Don't know if that's fair market value, but "I don't deserve a raise" is at least some acknowledgement of suck.

Would have been better off seeing the arbitration through.
