Everyone in the hockey world is happy that the New York market is still alive.

I don’t, it will just show up in my normal feed. I obviously won’t be clicking on any threads.

Fluky goal off Matheson’s skate. Goal scored because Pettersson’s helmet was ripped off.

We didn’t have any bounces or puck like tonight. Need those to win.

To win a playoff series you need to play well, be relatively healthy, and get some luck.

Rangers we’re given this series on a platter. 3rd string goalie, #2 damn out, Rakell out, Zucker out and injured, Sid misses 1.5 crucial games, Boyle out.

Outside of the injuries they biggest issue of course was the PP and PK. Just awful. And the blown leads. Blow those leads and have such horrific special teams, you kind of deserve to lose.

I thought winning one round was our ceiling. This is not a blown opportunity like some previous rd1 losses. This team wasn’t moving on to beat Carolina, Tampa, Colorado.

I’ll believe until the day I die that the 3-1 series lead caused us to get cocky with injury management. If Jarry could play tonight he sure as well could have played Friday. Sid takes a headshot, has no ill effect, no symptoms of any kind, confirmed to not have a concussion, but is held out of a game for the **** of it? Rakell has been dicking around in practice for a week but is able to magically Paul Pierce his way into Game 7? Nonsense. It’s the playoffs. No one is healthy, everyone is injured, and the prize for winning the Stanley Cup is major surgery for half of the team. Tape **** up, get your magic injections, and get the **** out there.

As I've gotten older these things don't bother me at all. I'm good. We've seen 3 cups with this group and 15+ years of winning hockey.

I had zero expectations going into the postseason. Life goes on.
I'm the same. I've got to see 5 cups with this team and a lot of special talent for 38 years now. I'd be crushed 20 years ago, but now I'm over it in like 10 minutes.
Yes, the expected number of Stanley Cups for a particular team is once every THIRTY years. I started rooting for Pittsburgh in 1994, so the 3 Stanley Cups will carry me until 2084, when I will be >100 years old...

(I am well aware of the fact that the chances I witness my personal SC victory #4 in my lifetime are quite slim...)

And people who rooted for the team before 1992 can live well into 22nd Century, and still be fans of a team with above-average success in their lifetimes! 8-)

Felt the same. We seemed pretty content to put all our eggs in the game 7 basket as opposed to taking two shots at it…starting with game 6.

I agree but we'll never know for sure. I read or heard somewhere Jarry wanted to play Game 6 but they held him out anyway. But I might have dreamed it.

You have to try to end it right there, not shoot for another 48 hours of "healing vibes" and try to win it in 7.

I’m not happy about it. It sucked when they scored. But it’s all done and I don’t carry this **** with me anymore following those two Cups. That Boston sweep ruined summer 2013. This is a bummer but understandable.
Agreed. I am still mad about the handling of Igilna. We had a loaded team that year, but a **** coach.

Because the ref wasn't looking at the scrum. On the behind-the-net replay, you can see the ref watching the puck go along the corner boards and only turns back to Pettersson after he yelled following his de-helmeting.

We need to stop dodinting about this. Letang got back into the play in plenty of time to make a difference and he (nor the other 4 guys) didn't.

They also had like three leads to not blow before they got to that point. I'm over the helmet thing already.

When are the exit interviews where we learn that every player had a broken foot and gingivitis?
