People keep saying Crosby can come back. Isn't the concussion protocol like a 7-10 day process if everything checks out at each stage?

I’m glad some of yinz are still confident that the Pens will win on Sunday. I think Crosby, Rakell, and Jarry are all back and they still lose.
All the other crap that happened tonight aside, Jarry might’ve been all we’d have needed to win this game.

When you’re always on the receiving end of the big hits, dirty hits, cheap shots, etc.. your chances of advancing through the playoffs with a healthy team go way down. Chances of losing an important player go up. Better to be the hammer than the nail. This is not a one year or one postseason fluke. This is many years running. Don’t need or want an enforcer but you have to be the team dishing at some punishment once in a while. Make the other team play shorthanded or play missing a star or two.

No you **** don't. You need a league thats going to make the **** calls and get their **** heads out their ass.

You saw exactly what happens when the Pens retaliate for dirty ****: they get called, the other team doesn't.

This league **** sucks.

We’re going to game 7 because of the injuries, no doubt. Overcoming this would take a miracle. As soon as Sid got injured and we blew the 2-0 lead I felt the series was over. Having said that…even with all the injuries, we blew a 2-0 lead in back to back games. We failed to score on a combined 3+ minutes of 2 man advantage hockey. Did we even register a shot on net in the 2 man adv tonight? Our regular PP gave up more shots against than it generated.

The injuries can’t completely erase what has happened over the past 2 games. Chances were there to put it away.

If you have told me just 3 days ago that we’d be here, I’d have said you were nuts. And I’ve seen some crazy stuff in over many years.

Sullivan was so mad at eRod for the penalty he....played him the rest of the way including as the extra attacker. Cool.

Yeah but the league doesn’t call playoff games like that. Never has.

Rodrigues gets cross checked and/or boarded. Should have been a call. Rodrigues gets up and pushes Lindgren in the upper chest. Ref calls the push but not the dangerous hit. Team throwing the dangerous hit ends up rewarded with a PP that swings the game. I feel bad for ERod. He really didn’t do anything. Ref should have called both penalties or neither of them.

You also used the word “retaliate”. I never used that word. That accomplishes nothing. I want to initiate. To instigate.

I mean, you don’t have to play that way, you can continue to not initiate or hit the other team’s best players but you’re typically going to be the team that’s more banged up than the opponent.

I think he had no choice, we were down 2 centers. ERod was basically the second line center tonight. Gah

That was one of the most soul crushing late period goals I've ever witnessed...and live in the arena no less. I just got home and am speechless.

Yes but now I think even if everybody comes back at 100% (not happening), we’re not winning a game 7 on the road to a team that just battled back from down 3-1.

Maybe the Rangers will be hungover.

I’m thinking of the demoralizing game 6 OT loss at home to the Caps in 2009. We went down there in game 7 and won 6-2. They say anything can happen in a game 7, so… :( Varlamov was a brick wall compared to Shesterkin. If we get even just Jarry back, then who knows?

New York is involved. That game will be a 7 or 7:30 start depending on what happens with Dallas-Calgary.

We blew games 5 and 6 combined in a total of about 5 minutes playing time. That’s just insane to me.

Right. Sure. But that doesn’t mean you have to make it 1,000x times tougher than the already crap hand you’ve been dealt, FFS.

I'm confident. Felt like a pretty dominant game and 3rd period. Special teams and goalie let them down but I expect a win game 7
