I mean Sid clearly isn't fine or he'd have played
Right.

I’m also annoyed that Rangers now have this momentum. Especially if Sid doesn’t play next game. They’ll have a whole lot of confidence.

I'm concerned about Geno's crosscheck
Same. He just got suspended for pretty much the same thing

The Rangers still have figured nothing out. And their goalie is shaky. They won this game because Sid went out and it caused a few moments of chaos in which they scored 3 goals. This series would be over otherwise. It will be over Friday night.

We'll need a couple of Sid/Rakell/Jarry for Friday. And Geno to not be eating nachos

Meh they supposedly had momentum after game 2 also. This is still the Pens series to lose.

I'll be there for game 6. Hopefully Sid and reinforcements are ready.

Right. I didn’t expect a repeat of game 4, but we were up 2-0 and giving them no hope. Even after Sid went out, there was plenty of time to retake control and win the game.

It just feels like the Pens conceded a ton.

The broadcast mentioned that Sid might have an LBI. The Taylor tweet offers an observation to refute that. NBD.

Yeah I think by momentum I simply meant that they have this emotional high of knowing (perhaps) that Sid isn’t playing. That can help erase any self doubt they may have had.

If that was the last game that Sid, Malkin, and Letang play together….it’s fitting it ended a bit prematurely because of an injury. Sid was playing at such an elite level this series too. Man. So frustrating.

But Taylor didn’t see his brain wrapped in a cast in the tunnels of MSG so maybe he’s going to be OK.

Best we can hope for is they're taking extra extra precautions (2 extras) because of his history and they wanna see how he is tomorrow

I’m not sure if you were watching local or ESPN. Ferraro was referring to it as an awkward fall and perhaps an LBI. Didn’t seem that way to me but who knows. It also took the ESPN crew about 10 minutes of real time to realize and comment on Sid’ absence. They were amazed by the Rangers flipping the switch and taking over the game so suddenly. I was like….um….do you not see what’s happening here with Sid being out and all the lines being a mess? Just so happened to occur 60 seconds after Sid goes down the runway.

I sure do miss the days of Stevens turning Kariya‘s brain to mush only for him to come back and score “off the floor on the board.” Who cares if his brain is broken and Kariya doesn’t remember any of it?
Did you watch the Superb Owl or the men's hoops NCAA championship game this year? Both games featured big plays by dudes with untreated concussions

Exactly! There was no switch flipped. You don’t have to flip a switch when you cut the wires on the other guys.

Yeah, was watching ESPN, with the busted audio. That was the comment I was referring to. I remember it because it sounded like they were carrying water for the NYR head hunting.

Pens went into their defensive shell when Sid went out figuring they could just ride that. Every time they go into that shell, they yak away the lead. Once the Rangers took the lead and woke them up, they got back to what they had been doing. Boyle blowing that tire and ERid/Rude Weasel not being aggressive on a loose puck resulted in the GWG.

This is probably neither here nor there at this point, but if you get a 5-on-3 against a fragile team to start an elimination game, then you had better take advantage of it.

Like meow said, that opportunity came way too early in the game to be useful.

The 5 on 3 sucked but they still went up 2-0 after that mess.

I believe the Pens will win on Friday, regardless of whether Sid plays or not. They pulled together in 2017 after this happened and won a game. Back in 1992 the Pens rallied after Graves injured Mario.

Is this year's Penguin team special? We will find out on Friday night. Great teams find a way. Gut check time.

I’m just cranky because there’s going to be a game 6.

But generally speaking, blowing 5-on-3s, as a rule, annoys me.
