58 was otherworldly last night. And it wasn't a case of him making a few dazzling plays, or even any one particular play that stood out. He was just so damn solid on every shift. Dude played 47 minutes. And at age 35 was out-skating guys who were far younger and had played far fewer minutes.

He’s snake bit as **** but I thought Kap played his balls off last night. Used his speed, aggressive on the forecheck, hustled back defensively. I really wish he would play like that all the time.

was this post-Rakell injury? watching KK in the first (which was all I got to see), he looked like what we've been seeing for months. He’s snake bit as **** but I thought Kap played his balls off last night. I thought Kapanen played well from the second period on. The most memorable moment from ERod for me was when he took a shot on CDS and almost scored.

Kap was great in last years playoffs. Hopefully it's a fresh start and he turns his year around.

He was mud in the first but so was the rest of the team. He played well in the game and a half that followed.was this post-Rakell injury? watching KK in the first (which was all I got to see), he looked like what we've been seeing for months. He’s snake bit as **** but I thought Kap played his balls off last night. Spicy chicken? Is he trying to **** his pants mid game?

KK was noticeable for a change. Usually I only notice him when he rushes into the zone and fizzles out.He was mud in the first but so was the rest of the team. Odds that Rakell plays again in this series? I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Who is back first? Rakell or CDS?

Assuming it’s a concussion, very very low. If he was Troy Polamalu he’d dress tomorrow.Odds that Rakell plays again in this series? I'm trying to stay optimistic.
NHL players with concussions almost always miss at least a week. Sometimes many weeks, sometimes months. Could be out for the season.

Tyler Madarasz, in a Good Canadian Boy moment on NHL Radio this morning, was “not even sure that’s a penalty.”

Trick question, they'll all return this series.

Interference? Charging? Oh, I see, Canadian, nothing to see here...Tyler Madarasz, in a Good Canadian Boy moment on NHL Radio this morning, was “not even sure that’s a penalty.”
As for the hit itself, even if the chest was the principal point of contact (which they must have some how determined since they lowered it from a 5 to a 2), it had to be milliseconds before the hit to the face. IMO, these are the hits the NHL should be trying to get rid of, even if the chest is hit first. There was still a lot of force pushed into Rakell's face.

Shower thought:
When was the last time Malkin had a tip-in goal?
Feels like that doesn't happen all too often.

anyone remember the play maybe in the second period where crosby came out of a scrum at the net upset at 2 rangers. they both gave him shoulder shimmies to the head. funny not something you'd think much about except for it being crosby and how his head got busted. of course he noticed it too and pointed especially the one dude out - who protested
