Well. Yeah. But even if you just do conferences, we're still the 7 seed in the East. I'd love to do away with divisions and just have two conferences. But, that doesn't help us this year lolI went on another rant about the divisional playoff tonight. Utter horseshit. It's hard to be excited about the playoffs knowing you are going to have to get through two of the best teams in the league immediately even if you finish with 140 points.10 straight wins and still a wild card. We'd be the #1 seed in the Western conference right. Now. Stupid division

I keep waiting for the Rangers to fall off the table but they keep hanging in.

Honestly, it's more just having to play the same damn teams every year. Rivalries get boring when you meet in the playoffs 7 out of 8 years

Is Zucker on the team still?
You have to think if Geno comes back and he and kapanen show some of the chemistry from last year and dont totally destroy the defensive committment and work ethic the team has show lately these guys are a serious threat in a 7 game series against anyone.

I’d like to give credit to Letang on the first goal last night. 99% of players in that spot just bomb it on net. Letang shows poise then feeds Rust. What a play

It's almost like he's one of the best defensemen in the NHL or something...

No that can’t be it

Well, if he truly were a good defenseman he'd spend more time in the defensive zone, right?

Ferraro mentioned that during the broadcast, that Letang has a bit of danger in him that makes him take chances on plays where he sees there could be a payoff, whereas the average player plays it safe and backs off.
IMO, the difference now is that Letang is picking his spots better than just doing it every single time. He’s a smarter player most of the time. Still has one or two ‘dafuq are you doing’ plays per game, but he makes up for it tenfold.

I’m not going to disagree with Chicken Parm - because he is right almost all the time - but I think instead of picking his spots better, I think he is making plays quicker. Sooner. Making quicker plays impacts both sides of the coin. It helps keep him from absorbing hits and putting himself in bad spots. It also helps the player receiving the pass have more time to make a play. He’s been terrific this year.
