I don't care what Washington signs him for.

Whatever it is, probably more than the Penguins can afford.

You know someone is going to try to give him 2.5-3 just based on stats alone.

I don’t know. I’m not sure playing with Crosby and putting up a few points gets him paid. I’m sure someone will give him more than he’s worth, but he’s not going to get a bonkers contract. It’s still very visible he’s not a great player.

He was putting up the points before Crosby came back.

This is where analytics will fail and pro scouting succeeds...

Lots of season left for him to fall back down to earth or continue on this pace.

I’m still stuck judging him for the player he was over the past few seasons and not for what I’m actually seeing with my own eyes this year. I always had him on the Dom Simon level. One foot out of the league maybe…but that was too harsh.

He has the balls to dangle around guys. He shoots the 1T off the side on the PP. He’s scrappy and is always moving. He puts up 12 shots in a game on a team that has a bad habit of over-passing at times.

I think I have transitioned from looking at him skeptically to wondering if this version can be the new ERod.

E-Rod is producing on the score sheet. Which is welcome of course. He's also just made some really ugly plays, like last night he fumbled about 6 different passes off his tape, 2 on the PP iirc, 1 on the 5 on 3 which went out of the zone. I suppose I can't expect too much out of the guy. Just keep scoring and playing hard

His passing accuracy is atrocious for an NHL player.

Also, I think I'm all set with Simon. Let's explore other options in WBS. If he's the best of a group of a few LHS that don't have top 6 upside, then fine...but what else is on...?

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with Simon lately. Maybe because that line as a whole is doing well. I could just be associating their success with him being a contributor. I feel like he is willing to accept some of the dirty work that is asked of bottom six players.

Yeah. Simon looked like a different Simon the first few games, I thought maybe he realized it's his last chance. But he's the same old non-factor. Give me Zohorna. Or just keep DOC in when/if we're ever healthy

I am open to the idea of Simon being the best fit. But I also want to look around and see if anyone can do it better.

He just can't seem to finish. His skating and stickhandling have been nice, though.

I guess I am jilted by having seen him since we picked him. I wanted progress. A little bit of progress and we'd have a fairly useful middle six Swiss army knife. Instead we have a plastic spork. It's fine. I can use it. I can't use it for everything. Especially if Taco Bell doesn't serve those potatoes any more...

Like Kahun. I wish he didn't have whatever issues he has and we could have held on there

Simon scored his first point in 17 games last night. I'm all set there.
