I know little about him -- details? I'm presuming he's a 4th line physical type?

Ahh, I do remember now, reading an article about him a while back. He was a big PIMs guy in Vancouver before Tortorella was fire, then he got the shaft, or so he thought. Might not be a bad big body to have around as the 13th forward. If I recall correctly, he isn't entirely useless as some enforcers are.

He once accumulated 27 PIMs with 1 second TOI. That's about all you need to know.

Interesting tidbit: He outscored James Neal (and Jared Boll) on their 2006-07 Plymouth Whalers team.

So...you're saying he's the likely LW for Crosby and Kessel?

I think Neal missed some time, but Sestito still had a high goal per game rate.

Just as an FYI...
Johnston, before participating in the Penguins’ alumni golf outing in McMurray, said that Phil Kessel is likely to open training camp on Sidney Crosby’s line.

Evgeni Malkin, according to Johnston, is likely to open camp centering a line that includes Patric Hornqvist.

Johnston did say that lines, as always, are subject to change. After giving the subject thought over the summer, however, he has determined that this is the likely configuration.

“We’re looking at Crosby with Kessel and Malkin with Hornqvist,” Johnston said. “On the left side, there are a number of players. Even right wingers like David Perron or Beau Bennett might be there. We want to see how a guy like Pascal (Dupuis) looks. It’s been almost two years since he’s been off. But he’s been encouraging.”

Johnston didn’t mention Chris Kunitz’s name.
I found that last little quip amusing.
Here's the Penguins article on the subject: http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?i ... L|PIT|home

Which also has this line:
Johnston also noted that natural right wingers like David Perron and Beau Bennett could be in the running due to their ability to flip wings.
Perron doesn't play RW and Bennett has shown no ability to flip to LW. The way the organization ignores these two very obvious things confounds me.

BB hasn't shown the ability to play RW either, for that matter

I have no doubt that Perron can play right wing given his style and handedness...

But he doesn't need to, not with two guys who are clearly better than him. Unless you send him down to 3rd line duty which makes no sense either on the RW since Dupuis and Fehr would be a better fit on that side even if you have Perron that low. Perron is the best LW we have, this team can be so stupid not having guys play where they can best succeed. Iginla by far was the worst example but not having Perron play LW would be a huge and unnecessary mistake.

You're not wrong, other than maybe it being blown slightly out of portion "huge...mistake", but this is just off-hand, pre-preseason blathering...I'm sure we'll see Perron on the LW and Bennett doing whatever he does come October...
