I’m thinking there’s a chance we are making a similar move for a defenseman we can protect possibly

Went over to LGP for a second. Yikes. Just unreal over there
I don’t think people realize Seattle now either needs to take a scrub or a bad contract off the pens now. Zucker, Matheson and Pettersson will be unprotected.

I'm disappointed in the return. I figured we could get back an NHLer in the deal, even against the deadline...

Not saying it can't leak out, but the deadline is 3 pm ET...I’m thinking there’s a chance we are making a similar move for a defenseman we can protect possibly

Did you see him play in the playoffs? And you expected a roster player back?
Wait. He…he did play in the playoffs right? I think I recall him hovering 40 feet away from the puck once or twice

You inspired me to do the same. Lol. McCann is a soft, mediocre head case. There’s a reason he’s headed for his fourth team in 7 seasons as a 25 year old. Such enticing potential that too infrequently gets used while contributing too little when he’s not on a random mid-February 10 game goal tear. $3MM in cap space opened up plus whatever Seattle (hopefully) takes off our hands. I would have loved to see a top six defenseman coming back the other way, but if that’s not in the cards then cap space is more than enough to make me happy.
Between LGP, Pensburgh, and Reddit the collective online Penguins fan base has a double digit IQ obsessed with their own groupthink. McCann is not a “two way beast”; **** off analytics clowns who don’t watch games.

Dude the **** analytics jamokes declared him the Penguins most difficult player to play against in the playoffs. It’s tough to take this fan base anymore.Did you see him play in the playoffs? And you expected a roster player back?

Yeah, I know, his sac-less game makes him a match for Toronto...but he was on a 60 point pace in the regular season and makes under $3 mil. I'm surprised that isn't worth a roster player...I'll check in on where Hallander and post in the prospect update thread...I get the sense that's only a C prospect...

We might have around 7 million in space for free agency with McCann gone and hopefully Seattle taking one of those contracts. Maybe Hextall doesn’t want any contracts back because he wants to seriously make moves in free agency
