I mean, I gave up on the team literally the day the turnaround started.

Are they good enough to make an actual run? Probably not but this has been much more enjoyable to watch in the meantime and really isn't that why we're all here?

$10 on it all going to **** when Malkin comes back. Not because of Makin, but because it's what this team does all the time. I'm glad Letang couldn't make it back for the Finals in 2016.

We had a bad turnover in the 3rd on the PP but Marino recovered incredibly well. Not often do you see a defenseman catch up to a forward and then muscle him out of the front of the net

I'm not so sure about that. The players really seemed to take it to heart when management changed. They responded similarly in 2009 and 2016 after the coaching changes. This roster isn't as good as those teams, but they could possibly make a run at it this year. Maybe they'll win a series or two.

Definitely think there might be something to be said about the relaxing effect when a GM who wants to start trading people when things aren't going great leaves and is replaced by someone a little more stable.

I'd say it's the opposite. GMJR was all about lateral moves which wore thin I think.

Burke is... unique. He has a reputation of not putting up with guys who are easy to play against. A guy doesnt wanna be sent packing because Burke thinks he's a little dodint
