The answer is no, we haven't, and they really didn't do much to go that route either really.

Funny that the concerns were that Burke/Hextall were going to build a big, tough team full of cavemen. They did the exact opposite and built the smallest, softest, oldest team in the NHL over these 2 years.

This team needed another Zucker or Tanev. Another guy or two that could drag the team into the game.

Maybe a pest or Hathaway-clone to snap the team out of the malaise of a “meaningless” regular season games vs Detroit or MTL.

Obviously the team could have used some more size and crashing/banging in front of the net and on the forecheck. I really can’t believe 2 seasons went by and we got none of that from the front office.

The bottom 6 was pretty much a wasteland of players that didn’t bring Offense or Energy/Grit. It’s really shocking how bad they mangled it.

Brining back the same goaltending duo was obviously a huge blunder.

Just give me AN identity. Theyre not physical, theyre not fast, they aren't an our-net-out team, they aren't run and gun, they aren't a zone time team, they aren't a fast break team, they aren't built on special teams.

The 09 team was known for scoring in bunches and locking it down in the third period.

The 16-17 teams could fly and would spend minutes at a time in the offensive zone.

The 21 team comes to games.
The 23 team's identity was mental fragility.

And this regime made us smaller, slower, and older. Sweet.

I’d prefer a variation of the Islanders 4th line. Momentum changing, grinding, energy, annoy the other teams best players and goalies a bit, chip in the odd goal.

Garnett Hathaway in Boston would be a delightful pick-up and he's a supreme **** stirrer.

Dirtiest player in the league...no thanks. We don't need that coming back on Sid. We can get slimy without having a guy who intends to injure...

Well, is it too much to over compensate then? I don't feel like we've had anyone on the team that would stand up and get stuff going when things happen save for Friedman?

Yeah, but "when things happen" is one thing, "make things happen" is another. Hathaway is vicious. He creates a problem. He doesn't really respond to a problem. So, he's just going to get Crosby and Letang slashed on the wrist and boarded as retribution for the **** he's doing...

I'm not a pusscake that doesn't believe in toughness. It's just that Hathaway is just a dirtbag. We'd be better off with like a Josh Anderson type.
