He has no easy outlet in that spot. Letang is to far on the middle. Sid isn’t a great option down low because he stick would be exposed. Malkin is limited in his options

I remember Kobasew playing really well - much better than expected - and then quickly falling off the face of the earth.

Letang sucks.

I actually love that Letang took that puck into the zone. Everyone is standing around assuming he'll drop it back.

Unfortunately, he switched back to Letang mode. He either has to take the shot immediately from the slot or peel off to an open area to await reinforcements. What he absolutely can't do is stick-handle amidst three defenders ... and, of course, that's what he tried.
