You know, I really wanted to be big on them as a surprise team this year. But their defense is pretty brutal. Like... as bad as I've seen in recent memory.

Their post game thread looks eerily similar to a number of ours from last year.

That Ottawa defensive unit really is as bad as i can remember. You have to go back to the X Generation here in Pittsburgh to find anything close.

Ottawa should claim DeAngelo off of waives from the Rangers. He won't help defensively but that core is so poo that it is not relevant. Zaitsev is their 1RD and Gudbranson is their 2RD (Yes, that Gudbranson). At minimum he could add some O from the right, and take some PP time pressure off of Chabot.

So. Saves like can be tough when a puck gets deadened that much.
However. However. Someone with a shred of athletic ability raises his left hand six inches and calmly catches this puck and draws a whistle. When your first instinct is to throw a shoulder out, you have zero confidence in your ability to catch a hockey puck. Or a beach ball. Or a cold.
