I think there was a business case cap-wise for burying him, but what tipped the scales was probably real dollars and also consideration for the player/organizational reputation.

I wonder if he finds a job.

I don't know if this is something GMJR considered - or that her should, for that matter - but I think it's fair to say that the fans needed something to get excited about and, sadly, this was certainly one way to do it.

Yeah part of it is maybe it's not great to banish a guy to the AHL for the last three years of his career? I think this is best case for everyone

Plus Johnson in the AHL would mean talk of him getting recalled every single time someone gets injured
