How high was Addison on the prospect list? I don’t even care about first round picks anymore.

Probably our #2? He played on Canada's world junior team this winter

No. I kind of like this deal. I probably like Zucker better than most, though. He fits with the identity of the team. Speedy and disruptive. He’s a courageous player, which gets me all hot and bothered.

Got it. :thumb: I haven’t watched Zucker enough to have a good opinion on him, but I expect him to be light years better than whatever the hell was wearing 18 up until today.

And I think she works there in MN on sports TV? Maybe she'll move here too and replace Potash.

Last Spring I saw the Wild play the Bolts in Tampa. Zucker had multiple goals and looked like Wild’s best forward. I’m ok with this trade. Galchenyuk will go down as one of the biggest NHL busts ever.

Addison was our 2nd best prospect. He was terrific for Canada at the WJCs. That's a heavy price. Yuk was nothing, other than a remnant of the Kessel trade failure. Which now looks considerably worse now - even though it looked awful at the time too. In fact, I would have loved this trade if Addison was P.O. Joseph instead, but that's life...the 1st is fine to move, this isn't a very strong draft. There's only about 13, 14, 15 guys right now that I'd really consider 1st round caliber picks at the moment...and granted, I'm mostly USA focused, but even there I only have 3 or 4 guys graded out as 1st rounders and it's getting pretty late in the year...

I never really cared for Zucker...but he's tenacious and fast...I wrote up this scouting report the summer before Vegas came into the league, so it's a little dated...I really do think he's improved since I wrote this...we paid a pretty heavy price. But Addison wasn't going to play on a Stanley Cup Champion this year...Zucker just might. And if he does, God bless America. We don't have a lot of time left near the top of the hill probably...let's get it.

Again, old report on Zucker...

Jason Zucker (LW/RW) - Speedy but somewhat immature offensive winger. "Immature" is a reference to his general skill set and how he plays the game. He plays like an advanced junior player in a lot of ways. As a winger, his defensive responsibility is weaker, allowing him to fly the zone with his speed a little bit - which is fine in the right dosage. But he plays a light-on-his-toes, finesse offensive game and is still a half-beat away from being in the right spot at the right time. He compensates for this with terrific speed and a great burst. He makes a lot of "hope" passes and when they connect, they set up terrific scoring chances, but when they don't, they reflect poorly. Every player makes these passes, but Zucker makes a lot of low percentage plays. His shot is not overpowering enough to score from distance and, perhaps as a result, he tries to make one extra move sometimes that just leaves you scratching your head. He'll give up a forehand shot in the slot when he's coming with speed in exchange for pulling the puck to his backhand and trying to make a pass back through the seam to the far post - which, for a player of this skill set, is just a little too creative for his own good. He only has average hands...most of his one-on-one moves involve a shoulder or head fake and then going wide with speed. He has above average NHL tools, to be sure, but may not be a reliable, consistent weapon. He is not strong, nor does he have exceptional balance - this mitigates his game considerably in the high-rent areas of the rink. He has the speed to pop in and out of holes/soft areas, but he can be stymied with relative ease by even average sized players. Zucker is not physical nor is he a noteworthy defensive player.

Role: Second line, speed winger like a more talented version of Mason Raymond
