He’s been great. Hopefully we avoid one of those cold streaks that puts him at 30 points in 50 games.

Has Murray won any low scoring games this season?

The Pens have the second best goal differential in the league with +29. They are only behind the Bruins with a +33.
And only the Islanders, Stars and Bruins have let up less goals this year.
This team is more impressive than I think even most of us realize.

Impressive numbers, even more impressive when you consider the amount of injuries to significant players.

Looks like Kessel might have been an addition by subtraction kind of thing.

Chucky has been more engaged the last couple of games. Even outside the two goals I noticed him making positive plays both ends of the ice. It's good to see. I hope he gets going like we hoped he would.

Beyond his mediocre production this year, the Coyotes are tied for 10th with a +10 goal differential while he’s at a team worse -18; next closest is Stepan at -7. I don’t think Phil’s defensive indifference can be overstated.Looks like Kessel might have been an addition by subtraction kind of thing.

Probably the case that Kessel should have been moved before last year and really threw a wrench in Sullivan’s gameplan. I was convinced the coach lost this squad and needed to go. Glad I was proven wrong.Beyond his mediocre production this year, the Coyotes are tied for 10th with a +10 goal differential while he’s at a team worse -18; next closest is Stepan at -7. Once Crosby gets back I imagine the power play will be lethal and Malkin will start scoring lots of goals.

Putting the blame squarely on Kessel seems short-sighted. He was a huge part of the league best PP (which was a huge art of back-to-back Cups) and he put up numbers Galchenyuk can only dream of. And if you replaced Galchenyuk with Kessel you'd certainly still end up with a better team. I think what is more important is a much more mobile D with the addition of Marino and the substraction of Gudbranson and also JMFJ playing like a competent NHL dman (he does) and the acquisition of faster, more agile players like, above all, Tanev and also Kahun. Maybe Kessel really needed to go to change the culture, and maybe Tanev would've been able to straighten him out. We'll never know. Bottom line is the Pens didn't need more pushback, they needed more forecheck and spunk.

Short-sighted is a poor choice of worsds, but I think I still made a lot of sense for how drunk I was.
