Beat me to it...exactly that. What NTP is right, he hasn't been at his best...he also played a defense-leading 21:18 of ES time vs. Florida (minus 3)...before coming back tonight and spending, most of his ES shifts with Letang...against the Lightning...Marino is in a little over his head right now. Playing with Letang at ES means you are playing stressful minutes and lots of them.
I love what I am seeing from him, but being put in this position with half a dozen games in the league is less than ideal.
It's a lot to ask for a guy, coming off of an 11-point, minus rating season at Harvard. Of all the guys to not play an AHL game on this defense, it's Marino (and Jack Johnson)...
