Columbus absolutely is not a speed/skill team. They have one flash player, they grinded the hell out of Tampa.
Colorado is a one line team, so attributing that identity to them is a little far fetched. Especially when you see how the other lines play...if they were really a speed and skill team, they'd be getting more out of Jost, Kerfoot and Compher...but they pretty much just try to hold the line until MacK can attack...

Eberle shouldn't get more than 10, I hope? A good playoff round, but only 19+18 in 78 games during the regular season?
Karlsson seems to be trending down a bit but for 4-5 years I would take him and play with three Riikolas on a daily basis...
I would do the proposed trade in this post every day of the week

We get McDavid and they get Kessel, Miletic, Määttä, Simon, Taylor, Siebenaler and Segalla

$10 million for Eberle? He'll be lucky to get $6 million unless he has an amazing playoff.
There is no formation of assets (particularly that pathetic group) to get McDavid. We don't have the horses and it's not even close. That trade wouldn't net Draisaitl, much less McDavid...

Ok, then I misinterpreted this big time. "so is Eberle and 12 or 14 or 15 worth Kessel?" I thought you meant that he would get above $12 million. My bad :fp But I could do Eberle for 5-6, I think.$10 million for Eberle? He'll be lucky to get $6 million unless he has an amazing playoff.

Just what I thought, re: McDavid. Only put it up for the lulz.

Sorry, I wasn't clear...I meant a draft pick. Minnesota, Arizona, Montreal, teams that could use a pull-away scorer.
Re: McDavid. It would be like trading a prime Crosby right now (so, turn back the clock for only him) in exchange for Viktor Arvidsson, Calvin de Haan, and Colin Wilson if they all played for the same magical team...the other assets in the deal could be summed up by saying "add a conditional 7th round pick"...
I can't imagine anyone would want to go there haha

Me neither:p
I think it would be next to idiotic to trade away McDavid. I mean, you would almost need Matthews + Marner to get it done.

McDavid for Matthews and Marner is an interesting proposition. I think it's still a pass, but it's close.

Overpay for old player and hope he is fast forever...or, find new younger fast player capable of forechecking and scoring 12 goals a year...Hagelin is not a hard player type to find in the grand scheme.

There’s that as well. I never thought I’d lose touch with players in the league, who was good, who was upcoming etc.Overpay for old player and hope he is fast forever...or, find new younger fast player capable of forechecking and scoring 12 goals a year...Hagelin is not a hard player type to find in the grand scheme.
That was five years, a house, 2 kids, and a real career ago. Now I look at cap friendly don’t know who most of the guys are... this I think is how yinzers are made.

Want a shakeup Pens? Want a shakeup Jets?
Kyle Connor and Jacob Trouba for Kris Letang and Phil Kessel!
Do it GMJR!
And PS, ignore those NMCs
