I also heard, not that he's ours, but I heard that Ron Francis may end up in the Ottawa "organization" as well...

Yeah, I think that's closer...some ubiquitous, but high ranking title...whatever they want to call it...Francis was just canned by a hardo owner, I imagine he doesn't want to lay down in front of that train so soon...

I don't know if that speaks to Murray being bad or not. I checked his stats and he's 16th out of goalies in the tourny. Which is pretty bad.

there's a lot of discussion in our house right now about whether Murray is the new Cam Ward, and not in a good way.....

This might be unpopular, but I didn't think Wardo was that bad his first several years in the league...I think he got hurt in that half lockout season and was never the same, but early Wardo wasn't given a ton to work with and he was a work horse and at least a little better than average I thought...

I never really got why, say, Ryan Miller was considered that much better than him...Miller's 2010 is remarkable, the rest of Ryan Miller is very forgettable...

People need to stop acting like Ward had a team in front of him too. After the cup, there were ridiculously lean years where they leaned on him and helped ride him to injuries.

Do "people act like that"? Haha I don't think anyone has talked about those Hurricanes teams and Wardo...well...ever...

Which isn't to say you aren't correct, those were not good teams...I also don't think Ward got a lot of blame either, they were just all irrelevant...

I don't see any comparison to Ward/Murray with the exception of cups/injuries. Murray has better numbers.

I don't discount the whole goalie getting hot in the playoffs thing. Binnington right now is doing a great job of doing the job.
