Not great.

I don't think there's any reason to try to single anyone out here...I think if you're doing that at this point, you're just using these losses as a vehicle to beat your personal drum...whether it's a good drum or not isn't relevant really as the issues we're having and the players who are culpable are too numerous for finger pointing...humans just aren't equipped with enough fingers...

We're executing poorly as a team. Even routine things are botched consistently. Outlet passes, zone entries, switches, odd-man rushes, just everything looks like we haven't played in three months...

They only let you win one at a time, so you just gotta focus on game 4...I would get a simple, good, very positive practice in...real easy stuff, get a little confidence going...just some passing and shooting stuff, real basic...you aren't gonna re-invent the wheel on Monday...get a little confidence in your trade and then start stringing together positive shifts to start game 4 and see where it gets you to...

Save the offseason talk for the offseason...

Everything they try is half-assed right now. No purpose, timing off, passes into feet, etc. Just sad efforts all around. Garret Wilson has more points than Sid and Jake combined. Is that the Islanders shutting them down, is their 3rd wheel not helping the cause, or is something else going on?

5 goals in three games for us. What is the reason for the Isles to have the best goals against in the league? Good players, good coach or a little of both. Whatever it is, they have a great defense that we can not figure out. If we can't make it happen, I wouldn't mind seeing them do well. I like Trotz. Be great to see him beat the Caps.

I know you're talking about on ice product. Just want to say that for me personally it doesn't feel like that. The Shero wheeling and dealing that year really set the bar high. Getting Sid back from Brooks shooting him in the face was huge. And then they just died on the vine. Just left you so empty inside.

This, yeah, they're playing in a disjointed fashion and the outcome isn't exactly what I thought it would be. But it's close. Expectations were managed.

similar to Boston in the level of hopelessness any time they have the puck. Not nearly as frustrating though. This team is right square in the middle class, so there aren’t really any expectations getting dashed.

And we can’t even mock the Lightning. Thanks a lot, Penguins.

Yes we can. We didn't win the President's trophy. We're the lower seed. We weren't penciled into the Stanley Cup Final back in February.

This. Tampa Bay is a significantly bigger fail right now.

Unfortunately, that doesn't really provide me with much comfort right now. I can accept losing a playoff series, but not with the effort that I'm seeing on the ice.

Even the Yohe article on the Athletic is resigned to the fate and for the first time all season he had something ..not positive..to say about 58. He also wrote locker room was dead, looked like they had seen a ghost... not really giving me the feeling they're gung ho to go win one (or 4)..

Agree with Mikey and most everyone else..the problems are too numerous to point blame at one person. Murray let in 1 or 2 not so great goals, but he stopped a crap ton the other way too. Isles are just working them all over the rink

Unlike a lot of people, I didn't think the Pens would beat the Isles. But the lackluster effort being put forth is a bit surprising. They are going down without an ounce of fight.

This sure would be a nice time for payback for 1975.

I didn't feel it this year. Didnt' think they were going to go far. But man is this disappointing. Just nothing.

At least in 2013 they made it to the ECF.

Dont worry, GMJR will just sign more slow guys who hit people in the name of "toughness" so now we'll be even slower AND still unable to maintain possession of the puck.

I saw a comment on r/penguins that said something to the effect of “I don’t mind losing. Even if it’s my team, I hate seeing the same team in the Final year after year.”

**** what?

I think this is my problem. There's a real issue now because Johnson, Olli, Gudbranson are horrific slow and it shows.

I also think the top 9 is just a mish-mash of players and nobody but Sid/Guentzel work together well.

Hornqvist could actually be the worst signing in years, because of how quickly he seems to have fallen off the earth, and he's just heart and soul.

I don't care what anyone says, Simon is a black hole of puck ragging. Dude is nothing more than a 3rd liner, and him getting force fed minutes on the top line after having a goalless drought of like 20+ games is infuriating.
