Maybe set him up for some 1T's on the power play a little more...getting one of them to go in basically makes it tough to walk around for a little while without tucking it into your waist band...

This would require Letang not putting passes into his feet. In the second he tried to switch with Letang so Phil could feed him passes, the whole rotation got messed up which I think resulted in a turnover at the blue line (shock I know)

Letang doesn’t throw a very one-timeable pass. His passes typically have too much pace and are better suited for redirects or passes from high to low for one-timers.

Schultz throws a much better pass up top. It’s a little more measured and deliberate.

Malkin doesn’t do a great job of adjusting to one-time on an iffy pass, so he shuts it down, catches it, and defers

I don't think his offense needs fixed as much as his defense. His constant turnovers and lack of checking is the main problem, at least to me. He just looks lost out there most of the time.

we're 6th in PP% but I did a calculation of PP%-SHG% where SHG% is short handed goals against / power play opportunities and we're 17th in that which ain't good

I'm not sure if that's any different than how he's looked most of his career save for like 2 or 3 seasons.

no, we just can't seem to beat the crappy teams but for some reason, can crush the best teams.
the Devils only have something like 6 roads wins and TWO of them are against the Pens? WTF?
