And btw trade brassard, I’m sick of his inactivity
:thumb:

Pretty much an empty sweater ever since he came over.
I still love Brass, but this is a terrible situation for him, so yes, move him, move him fast, move him now.

After the game, did Maatta drive home at 15 mph in reverse?

This is where I'm at as well. Big fan of the player, but this isn't working.

The Ducks are red hot. Disappointing outcome after seeing the first, but the Ducks are rolling right now

Brass has been good defensively, maybe our best center in terms of two-way this year (Crosby the other candidate)...but I've seen him be more impactful...he gets kicked around the lineup a lot...

My issue with Pens is the same issue I had with them last season. They are wildly inconsistent. Why is it so hard for them to play for 60 minutes?

Last season I chalked it up to exhaustion from back to back Cup runs. This year they don't get a pass.

I remember a time when the Penguins were able to turn it on the way the Ducks did last night.

At the game last night, for a majority of the second and third, it looked like the forwards were skating in mud.

I also wouldn't start Murray on Wednesday unless you want his confidence thrashed again because this team allows way too many turnovers and shots.

Another near 40 shot game again last night.

The success stemming from only playing 40 minutes and pulling wins out of their asses got to their heads.

Why is Brassard never in a useful position in the offensive zone? Like, he's never anywhere where he can get the puck.

At least Geno looked alive most of the game.

Brass might hang out a touch high, but it is because he knows where the defensive zone is. He likes to be above the puck - which is a great trait.

I get that, but when I see Sid and Rust and Jake... it seems that they have an intuitive idea of where the others will be and as such can get them the puck in useful areas of the ice. Brassard always seems out there alone. No one around. No one to dish to. No one to dish to him. Is he just not on the same page? I agree he's great back checking and covering defensively, but he just looks so lost in the attacking end of the ice. They rarely have any sustained pressure when he's out there. He appears to drag whatever line he's on down.

So, I was on a weekend bender in NYC (not a big deal) so I watched three Penguins games yesterday all right in a row (Boston, LA, Anaheim)...and to me, it's Rust that sticks out as the guy that doesn't get it and doesn't have the puck skills to do it...I like what Brass was offering and I thought it allowed Sid some more freedom because he knows that Brass is gonna make the right decision on the back track...Rust was pissing me off most of the time...

I think Guentzel was fighting it in the middle part of this season, but I thought he was coming around the last few weeks...didn't think he was too sharp this weekend though, no...

They need Rust to keep doing what he is doing. He's getting a ton of chances, though not a good percentage of them are actually going in. It's a game of shot volume for him. He's not accurate or tricky enough to be selective in his shots. Just throw everything you can at the net. Enough will go in to earn your keep. he's fast enough to get to loose pucks. just fire away.

Yeah, it's nice that all our forwards can score goals when skating on Sid's line. They need to be effective no matter who their center is.

He was playing with Grant and Sheahan when he got his HT IIRC
