It's certain guys whose defensive zone coverage is terrible. Geno is -13. That is impressive. I'm getting tired of the 71/81 sh'tshow. If you don't feel like playing all three zones you should be paid accordingly.

I can't really get too excited at this point. It's nice that they are stringing together some wins, but they are scraping by in the majority of them... they lost to the previously worst team in the league and needed OT to beat the current worst team in the league... oh yeah, championship!

Defensive woes aside, there are too many goddamn passengers on this team at any given time. The 4th line finally started stepping up and Rust came alive, but now other people stopped scoring.

Geno has been a massive disappointment for me this season. He has been lazy, sloppy, taken innumerable stupid penalties, and at times flat out looked disinterested to me. He got so lucky last night that his stupid shot//pass attempt bounced the way it did to allow him to get the puck over to Phil. I'll take it of course, but they need him to be so much better than what he is bringing so far.

I remember back during the game in Vancouver, they were talking about how this was his best start to a season ever... well, that's a distant memory.

There's a long way to go, but this just has not been an enjoyable season for me at all. I could be somewhat jaded from the back to back cups, but it just isn't exciting to watch a team that appears to be no more than first round fodder atm.

Took my niece to her first live Pens game last night. She got to see an overtime win so that was fun.

You make good points. Sometimes, when I think to myself that one of the dumbest thing in the world is to get worked up over highly compensated professional athletes, I get surly over the 'highly compensated' part. Not that they don't deserve every penny -and probably more- for what they put on the line out there. But you know what? My job could've seriously injured me too. So nah, what pisses me off is you read something like Brassard isn't happy playing 3rd line center, or, how noticeably he improves when skating on Sid's line. Perhaps I let Yohe et al influence me on this? but I think I see that too. And I'm like, Brassard's 'not happy'. Hey Brassard, count your damn blessings.
As for Malkin. Man, the dude has just put himself out there, has accomplished so much and is such an icon I'm going to cut him every break.
