Hornqvist played 12:52 last night with 2:36 of it coming on the power play. He had less even strength TOI than Simon, Sheahan, the ghost of Bryan Rust, and Hagelin. He hasn't cracked 16 minutes total TOI since the second game of the season. He's 8th among Pens forwards in TOI/GP (15:02) and EV TOI/GP (12:12), though those numbers have creeped down to averages of 14:20 and 10:40 over the past three games because HCMS seems to think that a winger making $5.3MM a year due to his ability to score 25+ goals a season largely due to cleaning up the opportunities created by more talented players belongs on a line with two untalented scuzz buckets like Riley Sheahan and the corpse of Matt Cullen.

The basic difference between what Murray did in the shootout and what Greiss did was depth. Greiss was more aggressive and better match the Pens skaters speed back in. Letang actually made a very smart play trying to slip it 5-hole (giggity), but Greiss snuffed it out. Bailey got Murray to back in a bit too quick and beat him with a really nice backhand, guess where.
