GMJR sat in his office on Monday and said he was going to make a trade to shed salary. I bring this up because very few GMs — or people — in sports are so honest and transparent. And he’s probably the best in the business. Just saying. Perhaps there’s a lesson there.

Josh Yohe really comes across as the guy that if you tell him everything, you're cool to him. If you hide even one piece of information you're a bad person and he has no use for you.

I think with that much cap-room, I'd prefer an established guy over an aging guy who fell out of good graces on a team that insisted on defense.

I think we get a 3rd out of this legitimately. We lost our 3rd in 2019 already, so I'm thinking that was the plan to replace that. Should be a top 75 pick.

And no one in their right mind would want JMFJ over CDH...

Sheary potted 18 last year while sucking ass, having zero confidence in himself, playing 14 minutes a night with mop of duty PP time. It's going to take a comically bad season for him to not get 20 and 40 with the playing time he's going to get this season.

I would say it'd be possible for Sheary to do that, but he rotated and had time with Sid. Eichel could never compare to Sid and there's nobody on that team that could likely help him. Especially if they trade ROR too.

Yeah he's probably going to be getting #1 PP time as well. 40 points easy for the full season IMO.

I think this is a win-win deal, I guess...more or less...Buffalo should want Sheary. I think they paid a very low price to get a guy that can produce with talent. That's more valuable than most people think. I don't think anyone held anyone hostage...

I understand where we all think Humwick and Sheary stink and JR fleeced Botterill. But look at this from Buffalos perspective....

They aren’t making the playoffs this year. They have a bunch of scrubs/minor leaguers to fill out their roster. They aren’t going to get a single legit FA unless they really overpay, and they won’t want to do that since they are a couple years away from making an impact. So they get a “top 6 winger”, which Sheary is in a way, and a legit NHLer to fill out their bottom pairing. All for around 5 million.

I know either guy isn’t great but the alternatives for Buffalo are way worse
