Boy I hope the Pens turn a switch on again because they played like dogshit.
For 15 minutes. Caps shouldn’t feel great about this one.
Awful powerplay, awful perimeter shots most of the time. Offensively it was brutal.

Pens just couldn’t overcome the loss of Malkin, Hagelin, Dumo, a goal that shouldn’t have been and a no goal that should’ve been.

That’s all it took for the Caps to win.

Only unstoppable when you use your glove like the Little Leaguer in right field who picks dandelions.

The power play is always bad. Always. They score because they play it funny. Without Malkin and Kessel that’s not gonna work.

Worst officiated playoffs I’ve ever seen. And I’m not really a “Hey ref!!” guy.

They are lost and players are starting to figure out the nuances of their blind spots in new and exciting ways. Coooooool.

I'm still trying to figure out how a capital running into a linesman at about 10% speed, causes a blown down play with a penguin having a scoring chance, and the faceoff is in our end.

I get the safety thing - although I'd say if you blow a scoring play dead over an official - they better be needing to miss time because the injury is that bad.

I think officials have done a generally bad job on icing calls as they did during the regular season. They've missed calls here or there, but nothing I'd care all that much about if they got the video replays right (that's on Toronto).

The context around each of our injuries is an upsetting thing to think about.

But the league keeps wanting to tell us that they want to get headshots out of the game.

My irritation with the no goal call is that they never told us what the original call was until they made the final call.

Bingo. We lost Hagelin to a late, needless head shot from Giroux. We lost Dumoulin when Wilson, instead of pulling up, thrust his shoulder into Dumoulin's head when he realized he had an opening to do it.

The officiating in this league is completely off the rails at this point. I don't know how they can repair it

Murray on the goalie interference: "I did (feel interfered with). I was pretty disappointed. As a goalie you just want to do your job. When something like that happens and you can't do it, you just want to see the rule be upheld. I was disappointed." -SK

I'm thinking the Pens win their 3 home games, end this series in 6. They need to get a few key players back in there sooner rather than later, however.

Sully's had enough already. A fed-up Sully is the guy I want coaching my favorite team to a third consecutive Stanley Cup.

#Pens HC Sullivan on disallowed goal: "My view was that it's 100 percent a goal. When you blow it up you can see the white. It's behind the post. Whether you use deductive reasoning or see the white, that's how we saw it." -SK

We didn't lose because of the officiating.

No, we didn't. But they still need to do their jobs, and not doing them well it made it damn hard for us to get back in the game.

But, yeah, our boys should've done theirs at the jump and not let the game get away in the first place.

Slo-motion replay is a bit deceiving with Tom Wilson hit. Makes it look like he had more time than he did, and Dumoulin turned suddenly into him. I thus don’t think it’s a play that’ll warrant supplemental discipline.

We did not. The officiating was absolutely awful though.
