ZAR has slowed down a bit. Do you think his lack of impact has to due with his injury (probably still battling through it) or simply the fact that he's no longer playing with Sid? He's had a few nice hits but otherwise has been pretty quiet.
Slowed down what?

Alright, alright I'm sorry for starting anything. Dudes we should not be fighting each other. This is the playoffs. Against the Caps.

Obviously, the key to last night's win was staying out of the penalty box. It used to be that when the refs let the boys play and put the whistles away, it worked against the Pens. Given the quality of the Caps' power play (and the lack of speed in their bottom 2 defense pairings), the more even strength hockey, the better it is for the Pens. Aside from the two phantom high stick calls late in the game, I thought the refs let quite a lot go, particularly a cross check by Sid on one of the Caps, and a cross check by Wilson on Horny.

About a month ago, I made a post about how Letang needs to play more of a veteran type of game; simplify things. Last night, he looked like a cagey veteran out there. He made numerous smart little plays (especially in the 3rd) which thwarted numerous Caps attacks before they materialized. Also, for a player who once led the league in unforced icings, Letang has become adept at clearing the puck out of danger without it resulting in icing.

Not to question Sully, because he's golden in my opinion, but I don't get Rowney over Jooris. Rowney's possession stats have been brutal, and he never gets a sniff in the offensive zone. When Hags returns, replacing Rowney and Simon with Hags and Jooris would add more than just a little speed to their attack.

On a side note, Brassard has been fine, but those people predicting a major breakout point-wise might be disappointed. He's only reached 20+ goals once, and 40 assists once, and he's been in the league since 2008. Playing third line minutes, he's not going to turn into a point-per-game guy. While it's possible he could get hot for a stretch (and I'm sure he'll pot a huge goal or two before the end of the playoffs), an Art Ross contender he is not. That's okay though, because he has been everything the Pens have needed him to be.

Jooris was down in WBS. They were eliminated last night. I'd imagine he'll be back up.

Rowney is a good playoff player. Just like the rest of our team, sans Sheary

I’m not a Rowney fan. He’s been excellent so far in the playoffs. The ZAR-Rowney-Kuhn line has been effective.
