so nothingJust the 2-min. penalty in the game.So nothing came of that? That was badArguably, Konecny doesn't have a punchable face, although I could talk myself into seeing it that way.I think Konecny is already top 10 worst humans in the league. Arguably worse than Brayden Schenn.
Matt Read, for his part, applied for his jagoff card in a big way at the end of the game last night.
Haven't heard anything about any additional discipline or subsequent injury.

Nor should there be anything...they called the penalty, that was plenty...

What problem are you trying to solve and how?
Pens. Flyers. Game 4.
Problem: player using stick to injure a player in a non-hockey play
How: suspend him for the rest of the series

Are they any slashes to the body that are not intent to injure then? What penalties would not then constitute a suspension...? Delay of game?
Pens. Flyers. Game 4.
That woman that got brained in Tampa disagrees on the delay of game question.

It's only a matter of time before the entire rink is surrounded by netting.

yep. of all the nonsense that's going on around the league, this is a big nothingburgerNor should there be anything...they called the penalty, that was plenty...
...and brassard made a meal out of it. not necessarily in the initial reaction (well, kinda), but how he just couldn't bear to move that 3 feet to the bench. it's sort of like the horny thing from game 2. legit infraction. penguin player acting like they were shot. let's all just move on.
Pens. Flyers. Game 4.
2 hand axe swing to back of the knee, no apparent provocation, totally unknowing and defenseless player.. dunno...seems like a review-worthy case, even in retrospect.
Refs and league can address big and little problems at the same time.

I mean there are slashes during play, and then there's what happened last night. If you don't see a difference I don't know what to tell you. Shouldn't have a place in the game, and we obviously disagree on that. Are they any slashes to the body that are not intent to injure then? What penalties would not then constitute a suspension...? Delay of game?

If Brassard doesn't react, do you know...?
Pens. Flyers. Game 4.
Did he embellish, sure. I think any human with nerves and feeling in their leg would have reacted somewhat, so yeah.

I wish they'd call every slash. No matter how hard or soft it is.

Sadly, this is probably true. I don't think there is remotely a comparison to baseball...I think the netting around the ends is more than adequate. I can't imagine going to a hockey game and having to look through netting to see the ice...that is one of the best views in all of sports. It's only a matter of time before the entire rink is surrounded by netting.

So you've never sat behind one of the nets?
It's barely noticeable.

It's not awful, but it does lessen the overall experience. I always sit on the blue lines, which are still the best seats in the house, IMO, and would not want the netting in those areas.
Pens. Flyers. Game 4.
The netting, and especially the GIANT BAR holding the netting completely ruined our seats in the Civic Arena. I absolutely loved sitting in E until the netting was installed. I've avoided sitting behind the nets in PPG, but hopefully they're hung higher so the bar doesn't obstruct the view of the ice.

Anyone remember the first version of the netting, in black? THAT was truly awful.
