Say what you will, but a BS penalty completely changed this game.
It did. Although the Pens had plenty of time to overcome it. But you could argue that it set the diarrheal tone of how the game was called.
Sure, but the Pens had a few bad calls go their way as well and couldn’t take advantage. Flyers won the special teams battle and earned the victory.

To be fair, as much as I hate to be fair when it comes to the Phlyers, while the refs had a shitty game tonite, the Pens had more than their share of PP chances and Sid can't be missing those 2 golden opportunities. Kessel has been an empty sweater thus far and with the exception of the end-to-end gallop for a goal in Game 1, Malkin has been making a mess of things. This was a dogshit effort tonite and they'd better wake up fast.

And what's even worse, they made @RonnieFranchise's girl cry. Dem's fighting words.

Oh yeah.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall in the Pens’ room.

I dislike these series with PHI because people I ordinarily like temporarily turn into dadholes. I wish I lived anywhere else.

If 5AF could will it, Sweet Girl Franchise will be ecstatic at the end of game 5.

Because NBCSN was going off of the Philly production team's broadcast, I'm not surprised that they only showed this once on the national feed. Maybe AT&T showed it more than once? But if you watch, you see Giroux take a look and then leans back to make contact. He knew exactly what he was doing there.

If the team is angry about tonight’s performance, then they’re hiding it well. The attitude is “Meh, them’s the breaks.”

I wish I could do that.

CBC showed it a bunch of times. One of the angles really makes it look like Letang is a dumbshit that skated into a stationary object, which was amusing.

But, yeah, this angle looks fairly obvious: https://twitter.com/Benstonium/status/9 ... 7609029638

There was a significant amount of terrible to go around tonight, but Geno really pissed me off with his play.
Geno and Phil were absolutely brutal. Still think the Pens take this in 5. Early on, every bounce and every break went against the Pens. I do worry about the PK though.

Yeah, Giroux can easily continue his momentum from his contact with Crosby and he would avoid Letang. Instead, he changes his direction to jump back into him.

The Flyers can't score with the Pens, can't skate with the Pens, can't defend as well as the Pens, and have lousy goaltending. They can only beat the Pens by creating chaos, getting bounces, and hoping calls go their way. They had a lot of that working for them tonight. It'll work for one or two games, tops.

It was obvious from the get go that Geno was in Globetrotter mode and was completely overplaying every situation. Phil never left the perimeter and every shot he attempted was bad angle junk that materialized through over passing, which generally describes the PP as a whole.

That's a very Letang injury, not even doing shtick now.
Now I know where I have seen that before.

Gonna go out on a limb and say kessel’s iron man streak isn’t really worth reducing him to this in the playoffs.

Still not sure if our complete inability to finish is bad luck or what. But it’s a real kick in the nuts over the last 6 weeks to see us puke all over our scoring chances.

Nothing for Giroux is a joke. He looks over his shoulder, jumps, and throws his elbows back. Someone better run him.

I don’t think he could have avoided the hit, really. Dissecting it in slo mo isn’t that useful. It was a high speed thing. And yes - he eyed up Letang as he approached. And he probably loved creaming him. But I don’t think this is that interesting.
