Forslund works for the Canes. I like him and Micheletti

I’m disappointed, I’ll admit.

Oh well, we’ll get ‘em when it counts.

Meh. It’ll be fun beating them in the second round again.

I think everyone on this team is capable of stepping up once the show starts.

Except him. I have no confidence that Letang has any control over himself right now. He’s still an effective minute eater. He should be treated like Scuderi when we have possession, though. Only give it to him if there are no other options.

Letang made a nice fake shot to a pass to Geno on the 5 on 3. Geno rang it off the cross bar otherwise that would have been a highlight play. It isn't completely terrible he just tries too hard to make up for plays instead of brushing off a mistake and simplifying what he does.

Starting to feel more and more iffy about chances this year in the playoffs. Defensively this team is just a mess at times. No puck management, pinching at ridiculous times. Still really haven't seen a major mindset to be more defensive happen.

Hornqvist will save us.

...I might not be kidding. He’s a god damn savage this year.

Tough to win back to back cups without a 1D.

I’m curious how they’ll handle him once the games matter. Do you prioritize veteran respect over a chance at a 3 peat? We still need him to play 20+ mins. The PP though...If he had lesser status, he would exclusively be on the 2nd unit PP, right? Hoping they work something out in a respectful way, and show mercy to the opposing shin pads.

I think Schultz is the clear PP#1 QB now. There's no question in my mind about that. Letang is on the second unit is actually forced to learn how to shoot the damn puck on net. Even then - Olli seems more equipped for the second unit because his shots actually get on net.

It seems Schultz has been at least splitting time with Letang on the #1 pp. From the games I've watched Schultz tends to start the pp, which is the correct move. With Letang being paired with Dumo I expect him to be playing 25ish minutes a night, which is about 3 too many.

Watched the first 2 periods, which I missed last night, and rewatched a few spots of the third.

Pens had their problems at times, but Grubauer was tremendous. If Holtby's in there, then I think the Pens probably win despite their foibles. :x

I wouldn't be surprised Grubauer starts over Holtby but is on a short leash in the playoffs. On one hand, that might be the secret for the Caps to get them through the Pens. But, as nice a guy and a pro I've read Holtby is, he's no Fleury in personality, and I wonder if it could have detrimental effects in the locker room. Also, Grubauer would be challenged with being The Guy at the most critical time; could he handle it?

Watching Malkin freak out was hilarious fun and concerning at the same time. Angry Geno can take over a game, so that's the + side (assuming it happens). But it was kind of a Bylsma-era meltdown, which I hope doesn't signal a regression in composure. I'm probably being too touchy and reading too much into it.

It probably had more to do with him taking a full speed double fisted blindside cross check to the back and then being told he was the only one getting a penalty. I'd be steamed too.
