Especially cause it was such a damn hassle getting Malkin over here.

You can market around Ovechkin. You can't market around Malkin.

Andreychuk technically played center for much of that year, but the 2004 Lightning...

Totally forgot Andreychuk was their captain. I would have guessed Lecavalier.

You can call me on a technicality though, he centered their worker bee line in the playoffs...with Tim Taylor and...yeesh...I don't remember...maybe Dmitry Afanasenkov...

Of course, they went against Jarome Iginla in the Final, so it was bound to happen...

I guess I should include some obvious ones instead of wallowing in the mire: Yvan Cournoyer (the Roadrunner) captained the late 70s Habs (wagon team) and Johnny Bucyk captained the early 70s Bru-crew...

Then of course, Maurice Richard (Habs) and Ted Lindsay (Wings) in the 50's...

The guy that punched an official and then the village that he lived in rioted because he was subsequently punished...

Doubtful.
Note that I was referring to Malkin and not Al Montoya. ;)

He fits their franchise better. Plenty of flash, no cups.
No need for a cup when you don't have balls.

You can market around Ovechkin. You can't market around Malkin.
Personally, I'd take Malkin over Ovechkin. Better all-around player, better team player.
