So Ian Cole potentially to the Jackets - Mackey just wrote Pens could be interested in him too, but the pens have no money.

Caps potentially trying to figure out a way to dump Orpik.

Pens have $434,731 left in prorated cap space. Cole has $451,613 left on his deal. Pens would only have to depart with someone making league minimum to be able to get Cole back into the picture though I believe all of that is just another example of Mackey being a COMPLETE **** MORON. In general the Pens have enough cap space to add $2MM in contracts.

Caps are in significantly worse position with only $149,199 left in prorated cap space. They can afford someone making less than $700k. They benefit from Orpik not having a NTC, but I think they'll have to retain significant salary to get someone to take him for a year.

Currently, they only have 7 D that you would even think about wanting to appear in the playoffs - gotta add one, imo.
