Flyers win in OT. Dammit.
Debs losing 5-2 early in the 3rd
but ut's Ottawa so that lead might as well be one goal

It would be pretty funny if Sid's 400th was an ENG.
Sometimes that’s what it takes. Wasn’t Mario’s 500 an ENG?
I don't know, I'm embarrassed to say. But I think Gretzky's was.
Gretzky's was. Lemieux's was against the Isles in those fisherman jerseys, but there was a goalie in net...I don't recall who...but I have a signed picture on my wall of Lemieux holding the 500 puck and there's a ticket stub in it too...
Söderström

Swedish for "empty net"...

(Good call by you, thanks...I couldn't even put together a reasonable guess...Mark Fitzpatrick came to mind, but I thought he already was Beezer's backup around that time... :thumb: )

If you want to watch the Fleury tribute again (shut up--snif :) ), and you have NHL.tv, I suggest the Vegas feed. So much better than the home feed.

And Vero Fleury wasn't wearing an old 29 sweater; I thought that would've been weird.

Fleury is a nice guy. He tries hard and he loves the game.

Man this Knights team has some shooters.
Yes. The thing that really sets them apart for me is that they're fearless. They give 0 Fs.
A lot of that credit goes to Gerard Gallant. He's coaching the heck out that team.

Ryan Shazier, too?

Just rename the damn place All the Feels Arena.
It was amazing when he stood. I think all of us in the building let out a collective gasp and then cheer.

vegas is a premium comeback team. stay sharp, boys
Yeah, it's annoying how they've managed to be the best expansion team in the history of expanding.
I mean...somebody has to be the best right? I'd prefer it be this kind of fast paced group of snipers rather than some Ken Hitchcock type of bullshit with dirty play and all defense.

- Cole should never leave the lineup.
- Reaves had a great game and makes a noticeable positive impact in games where Sullivan gives him more than 90 seconds of ice time.
- Haven't really noticed ZAR.
- Sid will never score number 400.
- Anytime I see Nate Schmidt play I laugh at the Capitals.

The league also gave them an really favorable criteria for the expansion draft, at least compared to prior years. Have to think the Caps and BJ's are rethinking the options they could have had to try and keep Schmidt and Karllson.

The Blue Jackets were playing Karlsson like 8 minutes a game. He never would've gotten the opportunity that he did with Vegas.

Credit to him for taking it and running with it

Wasn't he kind of like their Jordan Staal? High draft pick that played 3C?

Anaheim late second rounder I think...they didn't give him much of a look before moving him on. Then he became CBJ's 3rd-ish line center. He's not a physical mule like Staal. But he's a good start and stop guy, he's smart. I honestly thought his offensive game, particularly his finishing, had ground down to - well - not much. Obviously, he's turned that around. He is also shooting at a league-high 25%...so, it's really, really unlikely that this season will ever be duplicated. I expect him to resume being an 8-15 goal scorer...

Nah, he was a 2nd round pick, 53rd overall. I don't think they lost much sleep over losing him and probably still don't.

So is this just normal Fleury competitiveness, or did he really, really, REALLY want to beat the Pens?

I think he was just really ramped up emotionally. Wonder why?

He was mad at himself. After the Malkin goal, he made an, "its on me" gesture. I think it was a very difficult and disappointing evening.

Sure. It's good for the league, really.

It's just annoying when your favorite team has to play against them. :)

So, we get to go through the whole "protect-or-not-protect" game with Seattle soon.
