Man speed or team speed? Like teams play faster than they even are to a man just on style. Vegas is a good example...they play really fast. Not to say they're without speed...Haula is fast as a goat, Eakin is a waterbug...
The Penguins are obviously one of the faster teams in the league, maybe the fastest...Hagelin is the second fastest player in the entire league probably, Rust is way, way up there...but beyond that, they also play fast...how many teams have four puck carriers that can carry 2+ lines? We have 87, 71, 81 and 58 who can all wheel with the puck, which is insane...so that allows for different neutral zone routes and then you talk about the layers forming in the offensive zone (that last chance from Kessel to Guentzel, good example of attack zone layering in a flash)...they're just tough to cover.
Winnipeg plays pretty fast...they don't as quite as much speed as we do, but the team is a wagon in terms of talent...so it creates speed...Nashville plays fast, their D just shorten the rink both ways...so everything is just on top of you, those D are so many more feet up...
Tampa too belongs in the conversation: Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Hedman, Tyler Johnson, come on, stop it...don't be ridiculous...team is silly fast...
