I'm not a talent evaluator by any means but man Sprong just seems to have it. Can't wait to see him over the 2nd half of the season.

Yeah, I agree with this too. His stick handling to get the puck through the neutral zone on one play reminded me of Jagr back in the day. That really fast back and forth like the puck and his blade have magnets on them. I hope he keeps working hard and good things will happen!

Sprong has swagger and this team could use more of that.

Dude can play. Skating, stickhandling, shooting, pass acceptance, release, confidence...he was a guy really wanted out of that draft, thrilled we got him so low...

Nothing like the bye week when the team looks like it's finally coming together.

Yeah he just passes the eye test. Sheary and Guentzel came up and contributed but there were obvious weaknesses that they were succeeding in spite of at first. Sprong just looks to be solid this go round

un-researched and half-baked thought...sheary and guentzel becoming more well rounded players has disrupted sid bot's programming. they're both capable of significantly more than they used to be, which has muddied their role. i think he thrives with simpler linemates. he could spend 5 minutes with sprong and generally know where he's going to be and what he's going to do with the puck. same with simon...his job doesn't seem to be much more than chasing down pucks and dishing off to one of the skill guys when they're open. dupuis was similar. kunitz had some more facets than sprong, but he wasn't exactly freelancing on every shift.

so there. now it's fixed and we're on our way to the 3 peat, obvi.

So Crosby and Malkin have been better the past two games right?
Seems to help when those two are both on

Because our scoring depth has been poo poo and heavily reliant on Crosby and Malkin

I’m still grinning at the skill level on their 5th and 6th goals.

that one was a lot of fun to be at. i echo the into-these-games comments.. been a lot more into these games than usual
I think everyone involved - players and fans - were a bit hockeyed out. The juices are flowing again.
Agreed...the constant back to backs, etc. Feeling recharged and ready to go all-in on another Cup push. Just win, baby.
